Earth Day with FernGully™: A Charity Live Reading Event

On Earth Day, April 22, 2026, Dynasty Typewriter will present a first-of-its-kind live reading of the beloved animated film FernGully: The Last Rainforest™ in a special charity event celebrating the film’s enduring environmental message.

The evening will feature a star-studded cast performing the script and songs live on stage, including Christa B. Allen (13 Going on 30) as Crysta, Josh Keaton (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Spider-Man) as Zak, Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko's Modern Life, The Fairly OddParents) as Batty Koda, Cedric Yarbrough (Reno 911!, BoJack Horseman, The Boondocks) as the villainous Hexxus, Debra Wilson (MADtv, Batman: The Enemy Within, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order) as Magi Lune, Cameron Esposito (comedian, actor) as Pips, and Phil LaMarr (MADtv, Samurai Jack, Futurama) as Goanna from the beloved 1992 film.

Additional cast members include Aaron LaPlante (Transformers: EarthSpark, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania), Brock Powell (Mickey Mouse Funhouse and Hamster & Gretel), Camryn Grimes (The Young and the Restless), Eric Bauza (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck), and Oliver Vaquer (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie) in supporting roles. The reading is cast and produced by Patrick Cotnoir (The George Lucas Talk Show, Hey, That’s Me! A Commentary Podcast).

The evening will also feature a special musical performance by Skylet Gunner, performing the iconic song “A Dream Worth Keeping.”

Presented in partnership with non-profit Saturday Morning Cartoons United, the event celebrates the legacy of one of animation’s most beloved environmental stories while bringing fans together for an unforgettable night of nostalgia, performance, and purpose.

In support of conservation efforts, a donation will be made to World Wildlife Fund, helping to protect wildlife and wild places, like rainforests, around the world.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early—doors open at 6:00 PM, with the live reading beginning at 7:00 PM. The evening will also feature special surprises and moments for fans of the classic film.

Originally released in 1992, FernGully: The Last Rainforest remains a cult favorite for its magical world, unforgettable characters, and powerful environmental message that continues to resonate with audiences today.

The event will take place at Dynasty Typewriter, located at 2511 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, on April 22, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
